Was Columbia Events Center previously known as the KC Hall?
Yes! The KC Hall has been renamed and is completely renovated, inside and out. Columbia Events Center is under new management and is located at the same KC Hall location in Algona, IA.
Is Columbia Events Center wheelchair accessible?
Yes, we are fully accessible to people with limited mobility.
How many guests can Columbia Events Center accommodate?
Columbia Events Center has 2 room sizes available. The main banquet room can accommodate up to 400 guests for a seated dinner. The smaller room can accommodate up to 125 guests.
Are tables and chairs included in the rental fee?
Yes, tables and chairs are included in the rental fee.
What size tables are available?
We primarily use five foot round tables that seat eight guests comfortably. We also have eight foot banquet tables and 42” high cocktail tables.
Do you allow real candles in Columbia Events Center?
You may burn real candles inside glass containers, including pillar candles.
Do you provide a projector and screen?
Our audio system is state of the art. We have a projection screen, wireless microphones and a sound system. Guests need to provide their own projector. We also have free wifi.
What about onsite parking?
We have onsite parking for up to 200 vehicles.
How does the food and beverage work at Columbia Events Center?
Kampen Foods is our preferred, licensed caterer, but you are free to use a caterer of your choice. The caterer must be licensed and will be required to clean up and provide waitstaff. We have a full-service bar and will provide bartenders for your event. You have various bar options such as cash bar, open bar or keg service. We accept credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay as a form of payment.
Why do you recommend Kampen Foods?
Kampen Foods is our preferred caterer because of their professionalism, quality/variety of food options and ability to manage a large catered event. You will appreciate Kampen’s waitstaff and how hard they work to ensure your event goes as planned. Although we recommend Kampen Foods, you are free to use any licensed caterer of your choice.
Can we bring in our own food and beverage?
Columbia Events Center allows you to provide your own cake/dessert and dry snacks for your event. All other food must be supplied by a licensed caterer. Due to licensing restrictions, any other outside food or alcoholic beverages are not permitted. During the event, any outside food and beverage not allowed will be confiscated.
Can we supply our own desserts or do we have to go through a licensed caterer?
You can provide your desserts, candy, nuts, and cake. You do not need to go through a licensed baker or caterer for your desserts or wedding cake.
Can we use vendors of our choice?
Yes! You can use any vendors you'd like. All caterers must be licensed and provide waitstaff. Bartenders will be provided by Columbia Events Center.
When can we get into Columbia Events Center to set up?
You may set up for your event the day before the function if another event is not booked for that day. If you need more time please speak to Events Center Manager, Mary Tumey at 712-298-0881.
Do you have someone who will help coordinate our event?
Yes, Mary Tumey is our Events Center Manager and will consult with you to plan the perfect event. She will ensure all the details are taken care of and that the event runs smoothly so you can enjoy the time with your guests.

How do I reserve the date for my wedding?
That is the easiest part. Contact Events Center Manager, Mary Tumey to discuss your date and schedule a consultation (712-298-0881). The date will be reserved after we receive a signed contract and a $500 deposit. Your deposit is refundable 2 weeks following your function, providing no damage to the venue has occurred.
